| Second Start |
 |
Adult
Education and Child Day Care facility
17 Knight Street
Concord, New Hampshire |
Second Start was financed through two Community Development Block Grants and private contribution. Milestone managed the entire process, which included the City of Concord subcontractor bidding requirements of all state-funded work. We developed an analysis of tje project cost whereby all trades were evaluated and only those reporting requirements were purchased through the city.
The Second Start Project consisted of a substantial renovation and rehabilitation of the former Garrison School. During the building process a prior engineering evaluation was found to be in error, and the engineers for the projects recommended that the roof structure of an entire wing of the building be completely reconstructed at a cost in excess of $100,000. Milestone developed a method to properly reinforce the roof at a cost of only $12,000
This project was comleted and received an occupancy permit on time for both the adult education center and the child day care. |
